My Approaches & Therapy Philosophy

Structural Family Therapy

Structural Family Therapy focuses on understanding and changing family dynamics. It emphasizes the importance of family structure and interactions in shaping behaviors and relationships. By identifying and addressing patterns within the family, this therapeutic approach aims to improve communication and strengthen bonds.

Contextual Family Therapy

Contextual Family Therapy (CFT) is a therapeutic approach that focuses on the relational context of family interactions. It emphasizes the importance of fairness and trust within family dynamics, acknowledging the emotional history of relationships. CFT works to address multigenerational issues and promotes healing by fostering a sense of accountability and open communication among family members.

Existential Therapy

Existential therapy helps kids and families explore their feelings about life's big questions like “what is the point?!” It can explore our choices and what matters. We also talk about the Purpose of life here.

It encourages open conversations to understand a kid’s experiences of death, and to look for meaning in life and death. Dying is intriguing to kids, and it can also be scary to think about or process. If parents are grieving too, sometimes a kid benefits from asking an objective listener.

More About Me

Woman holding a cup of gelato with a waffle, standing in an Italian street with colorful buildings in the background.

I’m a Washingtonian who loves to hike, camp, backpack, paddle, & bike around town. I studied art in college + I worked in childcare for several years.

When I decided to become a therapist, I knew I wanted to keep working with kids & teens because they rule.

Not everybody has the energy and patience required to work with children and families. But, it’s easy for me to care about you and we can bring about change together. The results can be profound.

We’re working together on your child’s future, not just today’s problems.
